I have a buyer for my 05 V6 coupe. I can sell for what I owe. Im looking at either a 06 V6 vert or a 06 GT. I have found several of each that equiped and in the color Im looking for in the $24500-$26000 price range, useing x-plan.

So do I go for the fun and enyoyment of owning a vert, or do I go for the power and future value of a GT?

Ive had both in the past and I like them =.

A vert GT is not an option, I dont want to spend that much on a car. Ive got to buy a new house and it will cost alot more than what Im paying now.

Im moving to Tucson in a few months, so a vert would be handy 9 months a year.

My wife: She says keep the 05, its still new.

V8 is a no brainer for me, but I don't really enjoy verts to start with. Everyday that I wake up and drive to work with exhaust ringing and even just the potential to fly up an on ramp makes me really happy. After driving a hyundai santa fe and tiburon 4 banger in between my other mustangs the extra torque just makes my world a better place. Of course I live in Ohio and 95 degrees and humid is hot for me. I guess you will have to just ask yourself which one you will enjoy more 90 extra hp and 80 extra ft. lbs. of torque and better exhaust sound or going topless. It's the first for me, but I suspect it's not a cut and dry decision for you.

V-8...hands down. Verts suck. After a few years, enjoy the leaks, new top for over a thousand dollars. Somebody wants your i-pod and cd's? Easy. Cut a big slit in the roof, reach in and steal them.

Get the GT. The other guys pretty much summed it up.

I did not like how the verts have a big gaping hole in the sides when the top is down. So all kinds of crap can get down in it.

Thats completely inaccurate...I've had my vert for 4 years and no signs of leaking yet. And have you seen the material/design of the top? Its definitely not a 'cut a slit' and grab something lol. It would be 100x easier to break the window. There is nothing like driving top down - I absolutely love it.

That being said, I would still love to have a GT and will get the GT vert if I can swing it in the next year or so. I'm also in the process of buying a house so I'll probably have to make the GT vs V6 vert again.

I guess it depends on what you want. The v6 is starting to wear thin on me but I couldn't imagine driving around all day w/ a hard top. And then there is the gas issue....so i may end up with an import afterall:notnice:

sorry, but I'm very anti-import and dont I care to have my nose rubbed in it here at all ......

I'm sure that there are plenty of *J*a*p*C*a*r* forums that will welcome that kind of discussion though.

Ive owned many verts. Lots of CJs too.

Replacing a top every 8-10 years is no different than paying $150+ for a tire with a treadwear of 200 ... is it?

Verts are Gay. This mustang was made to emulate the old fastback, a vert does it no justice. the verts should be V6 automatic, just what every woman and gay couple wants. V8 hard top Manual all the way!

    LMAO bigcat.

How about this for helpful we can put it in gamer terms. If you want to gimp your stang and get WTFPWNZERED by some nOOb, HPW in a nerfed civic then go for the v6 vert. If you want to be H4x0r go for the overpowered GT hardtop, then yell," I am LERRROOYY JEENKKINS!" and nuke the crap out of those crossrealming rice loving, radar using, no skillz, 1337 bastard. I <3 the GT.

    How was that for worthless:rlaugh:

You're wrong and your mother dresses you funny. I, being a woman, would want a GT. Your post is GAY and uninformed. Where did you find those statistics? www.ImretardedandIknownothing.com?.

Um, back on topic, I'm all for the GT, personally. I'm not a fan of verts - they're fun to ride in once in a great while but just not my cup o' tea. I'd rather listen to music while cruising than wind noise. I get plenty of wind noise at work.

Do me a big favor and stay in California. Better yet, when I move to Arizona you can drop by and we can discuss your ****ty attitude.

    Ass-whip.

Anyway, I paid off the V6 and Im keeping it, no car payments are more attractive than another 90hp.
