Selling my car and hagglers

Sorry man...but for 4mpg, it's not worth growing a vagina....but to each their own I guess?
I'm open to suggestions in the under 5000 price range with good gas mileage and manly :O_o:
Nothing with 300 cubes or more, and over 22 mpg comes to mind.

Not really a truck guy, and cheap jeeps are way older. Nothing wrong with old, but I don't want to be stuck with a project for a DD like I am now!

I'm more of a every car is cool, kind of guy. That is, every nice sports car is cool.
Would I drive a Supra? Only if it is an MKIV.
Would I drive a corvette? Only if it's a stingray.
Would I drive a mustang? Yes.
Get what I mean?

and that rx-8 I forgot to mention is only a 2004-2006 in that price range versus early and a few late 90s cars in the same price range:o

Really nothing, all stock, gears and all.
Drop in k and n filter that is beat but I clean regularly.
Cats don't seem clogged, wires aren't too old, spark plugs could be changed.
But yeah it does pretty bad on gas.

Cleaned the MAF and that helped a bit, but mostly with acceleration.

To each his own BUT IM A FORD MAN %100 NO IFS OR BUTTS!!! My daily driver is a 92 ford escort GT. If i were to look for a daily driver it would be a ford product. Escort(older ones are better) Focus, Probe, SVT contour or some thing like that. But my #1 choice would be a fox body 4 cylinder. Can still look really cool and saves alot of gas!!!

Although my first car was a mazda mx-6 gt which is kinda still a ford at least a lil bit! Just my $.02

You gotta have a lead foot or something man. I average low/mid-20's all day long with my nearly stock Coupe. Even pushing I don't think I've ever gotten mileage that bad?
I really don't have a lead foot, I mean sometimes I like to speed in it. But even when I drive it conservered I would top out around 18mpg.
I fill up by the 20 dollars which is roughly 5.6 gallons here. It lasts all of about 10 trips to and from my house, each trip being 10 miles on a good gas saving drives. All highway, it comes to 18mpg. If I get a bit eager, it goes down really fast.
70mph, you can tell you're blowing through gas.

I try to drive my mom's mazda 6, it averages 24mpg with a top of 27. On a full tank it (50 dollars) it goes 400 miles with a clean air filter.
Dirty it'll only go 300, a clean air filter in that car makes a huge difference.

Though I could pick up a 'decent' 4 cylinder fox for around 1400, maybe a bit more for a really clean one. But I don't know what to think when it comes to overall prestige of the package, handling, braking, newer technologies, and the overall luxury of the package.
I want to impress as much as I want to save gas(maybe I'm asking for too much).

Nothing is wrong with those cars, but to be in my price range, it's going to be in the 90s. I like older cars, but there's always something that needs to be replaced, and I can't pay for the car and then pay for the repairs too.
If there was a newer, 2000-2005ish area car, in the price range, and looked good at the minimum with good mpg. I would be pretty satified. Course we can't have our cake and eat it too..
I like Ford, but that doesn't mean I can't appreciate a few Toyota cars or a Chevy.

An answer to your vagina car desires. They make kits for this (K member and other pieces) Ive contemplated doing this.

After the 3200 or so for a decent miata, 500-700 for the engine, 400-800 for a transmission depending on condition, the kit which cost however much, and other odds and ends like exhaust and the parts of the labor I couldn't figure out how to do myself.

It's much more than any option I had in mind.
Not that it isn't bad ass, and a cool sleeper!

My situation is a 'kid' in high school with two jobs, I make about 400 every two weeks, 180 or so in gas, and the rest is disposable. So I can't make large payments on anything. Then I have the additional 2500 cash.

So engine swaps and crazy cool things like that aren't really going to happen in my near future.
