Should I be concerned?

Apparently even the shipping company knows that Frams are bad news. :D

Pull the filter off and make sure that they stud it threads onto isn't damaged but it looks like the filter is the only casualty. Put and Motorcraft FL1A on there and call it a day

Why was your engine being shipped maybe they just put on a old filter to stop any leaking during shipping. Was it your engine did you send it to them with a fram filter on it. Also there is nothing wrong with fram filters they are one of the biggest company's cuz they are good. mustang owners mostly use Motorcraft FL1A for there filter.

Actually their marketing is great, but their filters leave a lot to be desired. The glues that hold the filter membranes tend to fall apart well before 3000 miles and clog the filter resulting in it running in bypass mode.

Also, they have poor anti-drainback valves. A lot of times guys will say their car rattles on startup. Sure as hell they are running a Fram filter. They change to a different filter and the rattle stops.

The FL-1A is a pretty damn good filter that is well-designed internally and features a very good anti-drainback valve. They are also cheap.
