I'd like to replace the clear OE headlight assemblies on my '00 GT with the darker OE lights from a '01 or newer. Will the newer OE light assemblies fit my '00 without any mods?
The reason I'm looking at the OE assemblies rather than aftermarket assemblies is that I've heard a lot of stories about the aftermarkets having moisture problems due to poor sealing of the lenses.
    Thanks.

yes, they will fit. but if u buy like i did , from americanmuscle.com (Mustang Tuning), u just buy clear rubber sealant at any hardware or NAPA store, put it around the headlight where any moisture could get in, and it works fine.

I think they may have resolved the leaking. I bought mine recently and they have LOADS of excess sealant.

and yes the aftermarket lights have moisture issues. All my buddies who have replaced there's with aftermarket have fog issues. Go with the Ford ones if anything.

Don ~ Do your stock "chrome" headlights have any moisture in them?? I seem to recall there being a TSB for the 99-00 "chrome" headlights, a friend in the Mustang club I'm in had hers replaced from Ford free. From what she told me, they don't make the "chrome" anymore so they gave her the tinted headlights and swapped them for her.

As for installation it's rather easy on the 99+ there are 2 slide clips that you pull up on you then disconnect the bulb and swap them out.

but i sealed up some used headlights a friend gave me and they still got water in them. i just mainly went around the whole thing...should i have done more somewhere else? but they still got water in them, not really sure where the water got in (or if the water was just in it from before).

Good price!?! Its a crap price! My lights were hosed after 40k of driving. The new (clear corner) ones cost 180 shipped.

30 bucks off for 18k miles - amber cornered. Not good.:notnice:

Look on eBay if you dont wanna spend that much. I bought a smoked set for $105 shipped with replacement headlite bulbs. They look sick and stand up very well to FL rainstorms....

And to install them takes about 5 Minutes of your time.....
