theres a lot of factors that play in how a clutch lasts or works, installation, break in procedure, cleanliness, etc. if your flywheel is not resurfaced when the clutch is being done thats an automatic asking for clutch chatter right there along with taking the life span away from the clutch.you dont clean everything real well, another reason for chatter and eventually toasting a clutch.break in plays a big part too and a lot of ppl think oh 1000 miles i'll just do a lot of highway driving and it will be broken in in no time, not true.actually clutch break in consists on city like driving, lots of stop and go.if a clutch is not broken in correctly it will blow with days,i've seen it done with ppl that can not drive stick well and ride the hell out a brand new clutch.my opinion is spec stage 2 is and EXCELLENT clutch, had one in my car for years and it took a HARD beating, finally just replaced it for another.had a king cobra before that, junk.last me a mater of maybe 8 months before half the clutch disc melted itself to the pressure plate, had a friends do the same things.horrible clutch.peddle feel is no traffic friendly on a spec stage 2 but after a while you get used to it.
i took my car to cpr all they deal with is 99% of mustang they installed my clutch and resurfaced the flywheel i broke the clutch in for 500 miles and thats not highway i do alot of heavy city driving and this clutch is total b/s im taking the car back to cpr i talked with them today he said we will try the adjuster and if that don't fix it he recomends ram as he has never had problems with them.. btw he said im not the first person to complain about spec at his shop... live and learn and everyone who wonders... DON'T GO SPEC!! they will not return phone calls or emails!im going to break in my spec 2 i just had installed today right now, im sceeered!!!
