Got up this morning and spent pretty much the whole day buffing the car. Paint didnt initially look horrible but during the polishing process I realized just how bad it really was comparing the un-polished parts to the polished parts. I am very happy with the results, I spend so much time detailing other peoples cars I rarely get a chance to take care of my own vehicles lol. Anyways, a few pics. Also note that I did not do anything with wheels or wheel wells or anything else. Today was just a paint only day.
how do you buff? ive never done any serious detail work on my car besides give it to a shop one time but i really wanna shine mine up like yours, how did you do it? BTW beautiful car!
i take it you mean the rotors, and that does that every time i wash the car, first time i hit the brakes its all gone. i know your talking to him, just figured i'd throw that out there though haha.
Its a very lengthy process using compounds and polishes. It took me roughly 8-9 hours, but thats with some breaks in between i couldve probably done it in 5-6 if i wouldve just done it straight through. Of course I clayed prior to polishing And yes the rotors rust pretty much instantly once water hits them. Thanks for the compliments guys
Looks good. The only color you can really see the difference on in internet pictures is black, but it looks shiny far as I can tell.
Nice work! Hard work too! I'm no pro and don't use power tools...yet and it's a good 5-6 hour day with washing, claying, polishing and waxing. I love how well the VB sparkles when detailed! Not to hijack, but here are some of mine.
Yea Vista Blue has an awesome shine to it when cleaned up. Great job, especially for just doing yours by hand, kudos lol. I remember the days of doing it by hand, I would feel like my hand was gonna fall off at the end of the day haha.
