Spindle help!!

all 65-66 V8, all 67, and all 68-69 drum brake spindles are the same. the 65-67 disc brakes used an adapter to bolt the brake calipers to the spindles. in 68 ford went to a single piston caliper, and thus the disc brake spindles are different, though they use the same bearings as the others through 69. as stated in 1970 ford went to a larger spindle.

not entirely accurate, the 65-66 spindles have a different geometry than the 67-up spindles but the rest is correct.

ahh so to get the beefier spindles you have to change disc brakes?

actually 70-up drum brake spindles are still beefier than the pre-70 drum spindles and the 65-67 disc spindles. you still get the larger wheel bearings and the bigger tie-rods. you can use the 67 disc brake assemblies on the 70-73 drum spindle you just have to change the wheel bearings and races to the larger 70-73 parts and use 70-73 outer tie-rods.
