I got a deal on a BBK CAI and a Predator tuner for my 07 GT And was unhappy with the tunes provided and what I read about leaning out my engine. The diablosport forums were little help and I recieved info that conflicted with my instructions and was more frustrated than before. After reading these forums I contacted Doug at Bama chips and he sent me three tunes for my car, an 87, 93 Perf and 93 Torque. What a difference and what a help they were to me as I struggled thru understanding exactly what i needed. At Bristol (which is an uphill high altitude track) the best I could do stock is 14.6@96. This time was quicker than a couple of other stock sn197's that day. Last week after the tune, kit and flowmasters I ran a best of 13.8@101. To be fair it was cool night vs hot day but I was still thrilled with the time and think there was a little more as I only got three runs. (This was also the exact time and speed of a stock looking and sounding SRT8 Challenger (ie tank) the same night.) The car pulled much harder and feels great. The next day I installed the torque tune and I believe it might be faster than the perf tune. I know that my traction assist comes on more with it. I look forward to a trip south next year to Rockingham or Darlington where the track is closer to sea level for even quicker times. Thanks Doug for your help and thanks to these forums for providing great direction for me. :SNSign:
Glad you had a great experience with Doug! Nice increase on your times/speed I had the pleasure to meet him back in July as he came to the No VA area for a dyno tune session. He gained quite a bit of power down low over the previous Brenspeed tune. I had to settle for the 87 tune that day as I didn't have my tuner and had a full tank of 87 I put down 280 RWHP & 295 RWTQ with his 87 tune. At 9am this morning I am taking part in a dyno session and will see what Doug's 93 Torque and 93 Race tunes will get me
I only used the 93 race tune. It was a different dyno at a different shop, but still a DynoJet. The weather was better than in July, but I only put down a best of 284/290. Unless I'm going to the track, I'll be dropping it back down to the 87 octane while it's about $.40-.50 cheaper than 93 in my area. All I know is that my car will run a 13.02 on stickies so that's all I really care about. I'll get another dyno tune once I add more go fast parts after the first of the year. I do only have the WMS 80mm CAI, so that could be holding me back a little as well. I'll be upgrading that while the cams and LTs go on.
