Everytime I get a new car I can never leave it as is. So when I got this one a couple of weeks ago and it was time to play. But with new kido comes new bills so I now have to budget what I can dump into the car. Well Uncle Meat gave a good suggestion when it came to exhausts. Since I don't want to dump $450+ I did the next best thing and got the a nice set of mufflersMagnaflow Magnapacks. I was able to order them on-line and have then installed for about $160. Now I'm sure the full exhaust would have been the better route, but unless you dyno or crawl under the car you'd never know. At first I thought it would be really loud for the type of mufflers they are(My SS roared), but it has a very nice sound without it being overbearing or droney.

THX Uncle Meat for the info. I guess next up will be sub frame connectors and other suspension work to keep it stuck to the ground.

Is it Ghetto? Well kinda, but at least I can hear it when I start it up now. :D

The fact that you paid $160 to have mufflers installed absolutely floors me.

HUH? The total for the mufflers $130 + $30 for installation. Is this a bad thing?

Yeah and the other ones cut out. Not good price to have a set of mufflers removed and new ones installed?

Yeah that's a good price for a quality weld job. 54life will probably come back and say you should have welded them in yourself for free or something. $30 is very resonable.

P.S. The stock muffler inlets/outlets are a known exhaust restriction. By replacing your stock mufflers with the 'Paks did you notice any SOTP gains?

Yeah $30 is cheap to cut out the old one and weld in new mufflers. It's very reasonable IMHO. I think the other guy thought you meant the installation cost $160! Now THAT would have been highway robbery.

Ok I have to ask it. What's SOTP? But like I said before it sounds really good, but the more I drive it I kind of wish it was a little louder. I like being heard for a mile away.I guess I'll have to wait till I get the Off-road H pipe.

(so your wondering how i have magnapacks in a 95 cobra. well i do, its calls slight modifacation. and i bought the whole cat back, not just the mufflers. well i know why they don't mack magna packs for a 5.0)

As for where I got them done I have buddy who hooked me up for the $30 install. Most wanted $50 or more. And unless you want to make that drive to Texas it would be cheaper to have it done locally 54life :D . As for if I noticel a difference in performance it's kind of hard to tell. I'm still getting used to the +70hp from my last car. So as for now it still scarey fast to me.

You'll get used to it...then you will join the dark side of pulleys, headers, and custom tunes =o)
Your butt dyno will get used to anything you give it and it will always want more.

After riding the Hulk at universal studios, I wished my car could pull THAT hard.....
They have some type of magnetic launch at the beginning of the ride that takes you from zero to sixty in, like... stupid

After riding it 6 times in a row, I could fall asleep on the damn thing =o)

Everytime I give someone a ride in my car they crap themselves...and it's pretty fast, but I expect it to be as fast as it is everytime I step on it. Everyone else is like "WTF do you need all that power for? You're gonna KILL yourself!"

Watch out for Vic now.... He'll have you runnin' a 4lb lower and a 2.80 upper with a custom tune before you know it!
Ridden the Hulkster more than a few times... It's a great rush getting shot out of that tube haulin' ass like that! Personally I'm going to head to Cedar Point in Sandusky Ohio when they open back up this year. They opened up a new ride at the end of last season. It's called the Top Thrill Dragster. Here are the stats:

    In service since 04/05/2003
    2800 Ft. long
    420 Ft. high
    1 Drop@397 Ft.
Speed : 120 MPH (fastest in the world)
    0-120 MPH in 4 sec!
    Cost : $ 25 million

    U.M.

    P.S. Sorry I hijacked your thread Jetracer1000!
