Well today was a good day, I gotta tell you. I get a call from Patriot Performance letting me know that the heads were done, and did I want them shipped, or was I gonna pick them up?
I chose to go to their facility to see it, and to let them see the car that was my benefactor. I chose to drive the 70 miles to go get them.
I've known the owner for a little while now, and I gotta tell you they do really good work. My heads were their "stage 2" full CNC w/ 1.78 SS intake, and 1.45 Exhaust valves. Springs rated for .600 lift w/ titanium retainers, & Maganese Bronze guides. While it takes a little longer, they slow the CNC cutting program down to produce an excellent finish. I also got the 4 thread sparkplug holes replaced w/ steel 8 thread units.
I chose a set of stage 1 cams, as they will not cause any P to V issues, which I was able to buy at cost, and they included a brand new set of Timing chains and gears.
They sell porting, and complete heads and engines for dozens of applications. Including the venerable 5.0. They have an in house dyno and will build any combination to suit your specific application.

Now I know that these are still just CNC'd stock castings, and compared to a set of AFR's for a Windsor, they are tiny,...and I realize that there are many differences between the two engines. But the one difference I find most rewarding is that........these were free.
