I bought a new vehicle today so I can officially retire the Mustang from grocery getting duty. It will have a life of sitting in the garage or being raced and showed.

The new vehicle is a 2005 Explorer with a 3.73 rearend and a class III/IV hitch to pull the Mustang with. Below are some pics:

Here it is with the daily driver in the background

Nice looking vehicle, my only question is (which is not directed towards you, simply stating it): Why can you order Explorers with different rear end gears and not Mustangs? I know Cobra's come with 3.55's, but they all do, it's not like you can special order them. That's going to look great towing your Mustang around! The DD isn't too shabby either.

Well our Mustangs came with 2.73s standard and the 3.08s were optional.

    Niiiiiice...

My Mom bought an '05 Exploder about a year ago and likes it alot. White, leather, chrome...the whole 9. Real good riding, handling, turning, etc.

With that said, it's a 4.0 V6 and it's the biggest pig in the world. She traded in an '03 Cherokee with their 4.0 I-6, and that thing absolutely ripped.

Turn the Mustang into a drag car. I'll help spend your money. :D

Well, that is true (and auto's had a mind boggling 3.27 gear ratio), but I think you should be able to order them with more popular ratio's like 3.73's and 4.10's. Just a thought.

They couldnt go that low because the emissions and gas mileage went to hell at cruising speed.

Nice Explorer Shaun. My mom had a couple years ago, and they were great SUV's.

Its just the 6 but its rated at 210hp and 254 ft-lbs. The two wheel drive V6 actually feels quicker than the four wheel drive V8.

If its 4X4, If you have to work on it, it will be horriable to work on
    My friend had a 4X4 4.0 V6 Auto
and ran it into water ( he is not smart he thought it was like a lifted F350 or something) lol. But, he blew up the motor and i helped him work on it and holy **** that thing was a **** so many things that ford didn't design right. To get the starter out is a HUGE pain in my ass!! At least compared to a escort or a stang lol

But other than that I love explorers. They ride awesome and don't break down unless the driver is a tard

    :nice:

Any one done a spark plug change on a V6 SHO.......the rear bank is like :bang:
