...IS seeing it drive by you after it is sold. :(

The dealership i traded it in at finally sold it after a month. I wonder what they got for it. Anyway, young kid bought it..17 years old. He lives near me and already once he has driven past me. Damn my exhaust sounds good. :( I never let anyone drive my car, so i never got a chance to hear it go through the gears. :(

    I miss it. :(

Motivation to get my 5.0 up and running so i can lay some rubber with it this summer!

I let my father - who is brand loyal to Mercedes & Porsche - drive my car so I could hear it and listen for any odd shakes/rattles. I heard him really let it rip after he got out of the neighborhood and he did multiple laps around our block. When he came back he got out of the car with a huge smile on his face and said "I feel about 30 years younger now, thanks son". His first car, a college graduation present, was a 72 Nova SS - and this car was my graduation present - so that meant a lot to me.
So - to get back on topic, I thought the same thing as you "Damn, my car sounds good".

Trust me I know how it feels. When I sold my 00 gt, I seen the kid driving it all the time, and seen him pounding on it all the time:( Then I got a phone call not 4 months after he bought it for me. My cousin who must have gotten to be friends with him, was asking me if I knew were to buy a motor, the kid blew the motor up in my old car:rolleyes: Oh yeah, his previous car was a honda civic :notnice: I am just glad he didnt wreck it, but heck, it wasnt my car. Money talks sometimes..........now that all happened, I told my wife I am NEVER going to sell this GT....so stangnet....you must make me keep this one!!!!!!

After putting a new motor in my car, my wife told me I can never get rid of my car. Its part of my identity. Who I am. I have done so much work and put so much time, I feel like it will never end. But when I get on it, I feel free and I forget the heartache that comes with wrenching on your own car.

I remember selling my first GT, a Black 95 GTS, 5spd, Bullitt rims, 96-98 Cobra Hood and front bumper cover, all the boltons...man I still miss that car, but I had just had a little girl, and felt like I had to get a 4 door. I learned to emotionally detach myself from cars since then and have bought and sold 17 Mustangs. Now I have a Silver 03 Mustang GT the nicest one I have ever had and I don't think I want to sell it.

I think it depends on the car as far as being emotionally attached. I bought my car from the original owner, my best bud in navy. I was the god father to that car. I watched him do the bolt on thing, I was there when he installed the blower, got it tuned, I wrenched on it with him. He got tired of it, wanted to give it to someone who would watch after it. I have taken the car to a new level, bigger blower, motor, all that jazz. Its my connection to my best buds in the navy and best time of my life, countless memories of cruising VA beach and Norfolk highways looking for ricers to burn. Good times.

Thats why my car will never part ways with me. Even when there is no more gas left on earth. Thank god for ethanol and other bio-fuels.

I could never sell my 03gt, not a chance in hell. I would sell my left arm to keep my car and just convert it to a auto so I could keep driving it.

I was once a chevy guy, had a 81 camaro at one point. later in life I couldnt afford the insurance on a 98-02 camaro so I bought a 2000 honda civic when I was 21 and did a few mods to it. No, I wasnt a ricer. I had tastefull things done to my car. Simple rims and relitively stock looking with some boltons. I had some fun in that car but in may of 06 my honda was stolen. It was found striped of its sound system, boltons and wheels. All this added up to more then the car was worth so my insurance totaled the car and after they cut the check to my credit union all I had to shell out of my pocket was $138 to pay off the loan. All this was actually a blessing in disguise. It was time to find some HP and TQ.

I started looking at other FWD cars like cobalts and srt4s and later looked for 98-02 ss or z28 camaros. I couldnt find a cobalt or srt4 for a decent price nor a camaro that wasnt beat on, most had leaking oil pan gaskets and diffs. The few camaros I did find that were in good shape with decent milage the owners/dealers wanted a fortune for them because they had LS1s in them and were the last few years they were built. There was no way in hell I was going to pay $25,000 for a camaro with 30,000+ miles just because it was the last year made, because the cars blue booked at less then $20,000.

I finally started looking at the cars I grew up hateing, Mustangs. I couldnt believe I was considering buying one. I think I started looking at stangs because they were more prevelent and decently priced. One night after work test drove a 03 mach1. While getting on the freeway I got on it and hit 70mph before I could blink and was almost hooked. I didnt buy that car after I found out about the requirement of premium fuel and how high my insurance would be. So I started looking at GTs. I found the first at future ford in roseville but had some issues with them and the car and passed. Two days later I found my stang at elk grove ford with 29k on the clock. I test drove it and was hooked. I walked out of the dealership paying 2gs less then blue book and a affordable cost of ownership, both payment and insurance. I left the dealership at 930pm that night and didnt get home untill 1am, I put 200 miles on it in the first night.

I have been in love with my car ever since I refuse to seperate from it. I have added a vortech blower and mild suspension, mach 1 brakes and mild appearance mods. Almost all of this due to info I got from all of you guys on this site and a few others but this forum has always helped me the most.

I feel that way when I see my old 04 gt, (dsg with the factory 17 inch 99 cobra wheels look a likes). It was nice, great sounding exhaust and looked killer. I see it from time to time and its always dirty. Plus he swapped the wheels for bullets...ugh.

Now when I saw them trl my 351 92 away, never felt better. A huge burden lifted off of my shoulders.

I'm a fox guy but i'd like to join the club! :) There are just so many mustang models i'd want to own, but can't afford to own them all at once. I'd love to own a 99-04 model and the 05+'s. Every time i sell a fox, its semi easy to sell because they go so fast but once they are gone, i miss them.
