Like, 6000? High milage = bad, mods = bad

Don't tell any potential buyers that. Unless it's some 16 year old with his daddy's checkbook. Then tell him it smokes Supra's and peeps be givin him mad street credz fo dat.

What was I talking about again? Oh, don't be too optimistic. Mods don't resell well. Most people do their best to return their cars to stock before they sell.

LOL! 3:45 am... <3 formal lab reports

It should trap higher than 101 with 287rwhp on a mustang dyno.

take all your mods off and then sell it. they will add NO value to the car. they might actually give you less than if it was factory.

PM me about those brakes and control arms

Yeah your car with that mileage - there is always a car that "one ups" any chance of you trying to not budge on price - aka - a car that is bone stock with 40k less miles might be able to get 6 grand for theirs - you would have to go 5 grand and just try and part out all your mustang parts. If you want to do it right and you find the right motivated buyer you should be able to get a GOOD amount of money out of your (common) mustang. When I considered selling my car I advertised it as a base price - with the stock rims and how it sits. Now if someone wanted my Saleen rims I would sell the car with those rims - but charge more money. Regardless, I would have a set of rims to part out and an extra x pipe with high flow cats. So with that example I "could" have technically squeezed an extra grand or two out of selling my car - I had the offers on the table - I just realized for my "daily driver" I was getting the bad end of the deal if I sold it.

Lesson learned here is don't sell it unless you A. need to B. want a different car - which you should already have lined up(so many people who looked at my cobra kept getting the original one's they looked at bought out from under them by another person...)

GT's depreciate a lot quicker than limited production cars: Saleens, Cobra's, Mach 1's etc. They always are flooded on the market and as soon as you drive your nice shiny 07 gt off the lot, that $25,000 price tag you just paid is instantly worth about $17,000! Depending on the extent to how limited the production of your model, you will see much different levels of depreciation or if you own a Ferrari it would typically appreciate in value.

Lesson learned either trade up with another person for a mutual deal that gets you into the new ride you want. Or part that baby out or if you get an interested buyer throw it in their lap - "if you like the suspension then the price is firm" "if you don't want the brakes then the price can be reduced $150, etc"

When all else fails use the simple economic concept of "supply and demand" pretend like you are in the market for your own car and start searching autotrader, etc. Critique how you would entertain certain "credentials" for similar cars - maybe the market doesn't have gt's with mods - which in your case could be good if you found the right buyer who was looking to mod out their stang but didn't have 10 grand for the whole project. On the other hand, if you see all modded mustangs with similar mileage I would undercut the average price by a little and part out the car to make up the difference - either method you have to do a market analysis of the supply and demand within I would say realistically 150 miles - nobody is going to drive 5 states away to pick up your GT unless you were GIVING it away!

    Good Luck

I would suggest taking the obvious mods off, or better taking most of them off (except gears or smaller stuff) and selling them seperate from the vehicle.

I pad $7800 for my 2000 last year with 92k on the clock.

And dont blurt out that you race the car, unless they ask. Dont lie about it either. After I bought my car the guy I bought it off of proceeded to tell me he beat the ***** out of it on the track. I wasnt too happy.

i just did the same thing trying to sell my car... the 99-04's have to be nearly given away... the trade in value is 12k on my 04 with 50k miles on it, and i owe more than that so there is no way im gonna be able to trade it it... and for the amount i need to sell mine for is just under what ive seen a few used 05's go for.

    Quality streetstang03 :rlaugh:

Don't even have a response for that. All I can say is if someone that was smart was willing to take 5 minutes and give me GOOD advice I would appreciate their efforts. In this case I am the wise person passing on advice I have learned from experience. Sorry you forced yourself to read my post.:hail2:

287/329 on a Mustang Dyno is gonna be about 310/350 on a dynojet. With those few HP mods. Yeah, right.

Wow Andy, suprised to see you in this neck of the woods. :D

To the OP, I'm going to be in the same spot as you this summer. My car has 96xxx on it with all the mods in my sig. I would love to get 9500 for it, but that's probably not reasonable. If I get 8k out of it, I may take it or i might just hold onto it since it is nearing the end of it's depreciation. I would start with a price you want, but emphasize that it is highly negotiable. See what offers you get.

hes got the cl plenum! i agree that with those mods the power is way less then that. that is why you are running that slow of time. that is good though because the closer to stock the better in your case. i agree the miles are high.

however, it is mostly suspension stuff so you might find someone to buy for 5 grand.

mods or not, with the high miles you only going to get about 5. if you have the stock parts, take off the parts that were more expensive and put the stockers back on. then sell the aftermarket stuff. you can make yourself a couple hundred extra bucks....if its worth the effort.
