I have a '95 Cobra, I'm trying to learn about timing advancement. How do I advance the timing and what are the benefits of doing it? I had my car in the shop to have the tensioner and harmonic balancer replaced and I asked them if they advanced it or if they messed around with the timing at all but they said they didn't. Since I got it back it feels a bit slower than normal.

    This article might be helpful.
You can eek out a little more oomph by advancing the timing, so long as you dont get into detonation.

    Good luck.

Just remember to run better gas with more timing.

I gained 12 rwhp with 4deg of timing.

They put a balancer on and didn't recheck the timing? :shakes head: .

Heh, timing is a big part of the deal, we found out yesterday why my bone stock 94 gt was only making 137.5hp at the wheels - the timing was set at -1 degree!
