tire review

I've got about 35,000 on my original goodyear 245/45zr17 gatorbacks
and they are about gone. I'm hoping to find a replacement that will last
just as long or better. I've rotated them every 5000 miles since mile 0.
About a year ago I did the gears (3.73), chip and mac and I pretty
much plan on staying this way. I don't go to the track, just to work
and home, so I'm looking at street tires only. I'm thinking of switching
to all-season for better rain and light snow performance because these
goodyears are definately not good for either. I've been reading reviews
from tirerack and the 3 most used by stangers are follows:

1. continental = contiextremecontact
2. bf goodrich = g-force t/a kdws
3. dunlop = sp sport 5000 asymmetrical

Which ones do you guys prefer ?

Like you, I purchased 'ALL SEASON' tires after getting rid of the OEM Goodyears..
I purchased the Conti's... excellent all season tire... works WONDERFULLY in the rain...they do take a little getting used to in the beginning..they feel a little soft in the sides..If you do buy them, make sure you get them from DISCOUNT TIRES.. they have a tire/wheel balancer called the HUNTER GSP 9000/9700.. they will make absolutely sure that these tires are perfectly balanced...no other tire/wheeler balancer even comes close.. goto www.hunter.com for more info on the tire/wheel balancer.....

We got 41,000 out of the stock goodyears on the wifes car. They were replaces with 255/40/17 yokohama avs es100's and they appear to be lasting just as long. These tires are about 100 times better than the stock goodyears, but what tire isnt. They have a VERY stiff sidewall and the car handles much better. I also like the tread pattern and they are quite inexpensive. The 255's are $116 bucks.
