Thinking about going to Trans Am style with my 68 coupe, thinking maybe changing the wheels to a 15 or 16 in a mini lite or torq thrust style...what size tires would look best...I want to run low suspension and as wide as i can go...may even be interested in trading my 17's for the right set if anyone is interested in them...
It would look sweet with 15-16 inch wheels, but I'm not sure if I would mod the car to look like a trans am car. It looks clean like it is.
I have always wanted a 67-68 coupe with that look. Here's a few that I saw at Tulsa this year. And just because I love it, a 65 FB.
the red 68 is awesome, the stance and wheel tire combo is my favorite and what i want to do with mine if i decide to go that route, i mainly am into the stance and wheel tire look of the trans am stangs, not so much the paint schemes...
I'm going the T/A route with my '67 and painting it much like the red '68 when done. I picked up the TTD's 15" first and they look nice for a street car but kinda wish I would have gone with 4 of these: But I think I'll get them for 1/4mi. rears or track tires if I get into autoX or opentrack like I hope to. I think those rims in black with fat 15" tires on my candyapple red car with satin hood/fenders/headlight buckets and satin accents would be a nice mean combination. I may get some static cling or magnetic vintage race stickers for car shows, everbody seems to love a 'theme' car. Black, Silver $65.90 Bassett DOT Street Legal Racing Wheels I wish they made the 15X7 in the same bs as the 15x8 as 3.625" is too shallow to use a wide tire, I had to roll my fenders with 15X7 3.75"bs and 225/60/15. I've also looked for 15" mini-lites but couldn't find any at a near affordable price for rims alone. Jon
