Oh, sorry man i didn't mean to hijack your thread like that....it kinda snowballed Point is, turbo is the $hit and it's really unbeatable if you have the craftsmanship to get a kit together for cheap.
Jozey u made ur own header right?do you plan on getting that dwonpipe back to the H or are open and what did you do about the othe part of the H if you plan on keepit it open?
JoeyZ yeah props on your good work bro. Thats nice there, did you bend your own pipe or buy it pre bent and just cut to fit? Details man, details. Chuck GA
looks good, hopefully it lasts lol.... i only got to drive mine for about 3 weeks. granted i could have had it running again within a day but was jsut so busy and lazy lol
uuuuhhhhh, joezy, is only one side of the motor feeding the turbo? Does anybody think that will make it run real weird? It looks like only one header goes feeds the turbo.
im not mad about the hijack, that notch in badass.anyway im gonna run it back alittle into an xpipe then strait through muffs with side exhaust.i bought u bends then cut to fit,the passenger side header is feeding the driver side.i have it running behind the motor.i'll get a pic of the crossover so you can see how i did it.88 GT 5 OH,what happend to yours?i build mine pretty stout so i shouldnt have any probelms but you never know.im pretty confident on my build.any other ?'s or if you want to see any other pics let me know and i'll take them and get them up.again thanks for the props
I don't mean to hijack the thread as well, but since you're on the subject of home built turbos, I figured I'd show this twin turbo notch from around me. I don't know him personally, but I've seen it around at car shows and burnout competitions, he is teh win when it comes to burnouts. 1993 Mustang lx Noth Back, Red Turbos are Garrett T04B's from John Deere 410B backhoe/loader Tial 38mm gates Greddy Type-S BOV 97 explorer shortblock, totally stock and original 95 mustang gt E7 heads, ported by Chev's engines 30# injectors, no chip, no tune Comp 276HR cam w/1.72 rockers and beehive springs Otherwise, just a stock T5, stock rear end, stock struts, stock K member..... It put 461hp and 505ft-lbs to the wheels, and has run a 10.91@126mph. Gotta love that shifter too.
poped a head gasket i think. might (hopefully) just be the lower intkae gasket. do yourself and invest in a turbo blanket and some heat wrap
yea, a turbo blanket is next on my list and most of my stuff is wraped.that red notch makes my build like a million bux,but hell what ever makes you go fast
Haha, who knows, he doesn't clean it off. The car has a little more rubber on it every time I see it. As you can see the trim is ripped off around the rear fenderwells also from when the tires blow. Soon after we took the pics of the car on the burnout box, he did his burnout, up into 4th, foot through the floor on the rev limiter for a good couple minutes. After the tires blew he kept it to the boards until they shredded and the right rear blew out the quarter window. I'm willing to bet he hasn't replaced it yet. The pics are from the Summer Nationals car show in Mass, and the day we were there, he entered all 3 burnout competitions of the day, and I'm assuming he did the same for the other 3 or 4 days of the show, that car takes a serious beating.
