This is the pic of my Cobra form 2 years ago. It is in the finishing stages of being rebuilt.

here are some of the specs on my new motor:

351W 40 Over
Scat crank
KB151 Flat top pistons
Eagle H-Beam rods
Dart II Heads shaved to 52cc, 2.02/1.60 valves
Stage III ported
flow 320 at .700 intake
flow 215 at .700 exhaust
ARP head studs and main studs
ISKY Cam: Billet Solid Roller LIFT 640/640, DUR INT284/EX294, DUR AT .050 IS 254/262 with a 108 center

The car is a 78 Cobra II with a full manual c-4 and 3800 stall converter. Backed with a shortened 9" rear with 4:11s, 31 spline Mosler axles, and a trac loc unit. Just can't wait to see what it will run. Not bad for a street car. I am getting ready to paint it Artic White and install a custom set of purple 76-77 Cobra II stripes I made.

The exterior is pretty much the same, but here is a picture of the engine compartment restoration that is nearly completed. Since this picture the distributor has been upgraded with a MSD Billet, the water pump replaced with an Edelbrock Victor aluminum, pulleys replaced with March performance V-belt aluminum, and the stock over flow container replaced with a Jaz. All I need now is an electric fan, install the horn, and one more bleeding of the brakes and she should be ready for the road.

302 - .030 forged TRW, balanced
E7TE's ported, screw in studs, FMS 1.72
FMS hyd. flat tappet 290/300 & 48?/49?
Edelbrock RPM airgap
Carter 625 AFB
Headman headers w/ home done aluminum coat
Holley fuel pump
MSD 6AL/MSD billet
Accel SuperCoil & 8.8mm wires
10.5" Billet flywheel
King Cobra clutch
World Class T-5
B&M Short shifter
Auburn locker 3.55
2.5" dual to back with Flowmasters

Future plans include replacing the front and rear bumpers, adding a spoiler, upgrading the wheels (probably Welds with either drag radials or Hoosier Quicktimes), and Weld in frame connectors. Maybe a stock II hood scoop converted to be functional. Once I get an ISP I will put some pictures up.

Here's mine prior to disassembly for reconstruction. (not stock)
1976 Cobra II 302 from RHS, Milodon roller rockers, reverse water pump,
mini high torque starter from a lincoln donor car, 4 core radiator, electric fan,
msd 6a, hedman headers w/ modified #1 pipe to hug crossmember without bottoming out, SROD 4 spd w/fresh rebuild, stock 8" rear w/3.40 gears,
fuel cell, southside machine weld in frame connectors, lakewood traction bars w/ rearched springs
soon to come: battery moved to trunk (sealed container), sheet metal dash w/autometer guages, seats from a 98 sunfire, new headliner from CT Mustang,
Just waiting for finances to start flowing back my way.
Wheel combinations: stock 78' king cobra rims 13" front tires 205 60r13
rear tires 235/50R13 BFG's (cant find those anymore) I want to upgrade to 14",but the 13" s were brand new when I got the car.

Red one (the one that needs a paint job)
My old 78 I used to have, 351w, c-4, lincoln versilli 9" with disc brakes, 3.70 gear, southsides, hedman hustler headers, 3.5 dual flowmaster exhaust (installed after photo was taken), vic jr intake, predator carb. Centerlines 15 x 3.5, and 15 x 8.5's. best 10.86 @ 125 mph. gawd I miss that car.
Shortly after running the 10.86, car was taken in for roll cage and paint.... long story short, car ended up going to crusher as scrap.... to much hidden cancer.

Green car was a friends, at time of picture, had a true 69 boss headed 302, and powerglide trans... later the car was sold minus engine and trans.... the new owner bought all my left over 351w swap parts headers, oil pan, motor plate, etc and is installing a 408w

Mike

My new project car. This car is going to take the place of my white Cobra. I will hopfully have it in the 9's by summers end. Here is a link to specs and pics. I am also posting some. The car is going to have almost a full Cobra II interior and all the louvers and stripes. The car is a factory cobra. The guy I bought the car from painted the lower Mach 1 stripes over the new paint with a rattle car. I am removing it a making a set of the 76-77 style stripes in reflective white. It also came with fiberglass bumpers already painted to match. Not bad for a $200 car. I just finished installing shortened 9" rear(2.5"), SSM lift bars, new shocks. In the pic with the weld wheels, that is the ride height with stock shocks. Those tires tuck in the wells with no mods.
