with the exception of the bellhousing I am wondering if they are otherwise the same....or rather whether they have the same length input shaft
I think the only difference is that the V8 T5 might be a little bit stronger. Everything should bolt up including the bellhousing which is the same for 3.8 and 302. EDIT: From what I've read it's the same, just upgrade the clutch while you have enerything apart.
+1 They're both windsor motors so the bellhousings and such are the same. As '66 said, the only difference may lie in the strength of the parts.
well, the v6 t5 is rated at 300ft/lbs, which is enough...since I will be putting a v6 behind it(albeit a turbo v6, which will make torque...just not as much in the low RPM band) just not the 3.8L, thanks, you have answered my question
The tranny is the same, but the bellhousing is NOT. The flywheel on the V6 is bigger than a 5.0 so it put's the starter further away with the 6 bellhousing. If this is in reguards to a V8 swap, you need the V8 bellhousing or the starter will not enguage.
Last time I checked bother part numbers are the same and the GT T-5 is rated for 300lbs of torque also... Kinda sad...
