buddy of mine is selling his victor jr heads.Will these heads be to big for a 306?I will be going with a custom cam, and will get the pistons notch for ptv clearance.The part number for the heads is #77189.let me know


BTW- next year, i will be going to a 331.

They will work better on the 331, but might be alright on the 306.

I think the biggest issue is going to be finding/running an intake manifold that will flow enough air to feed those heads.

Remember, an engine is nothing more than an air pump.
 
To match the piston speed of a 6,000 RPM 347, you will need to rev the 302 to 6,800 RPM.

6,000 RPM x 3.4 / 6 = 3,400 FPS (average piston speed)

3,400 FPS x 6 / 3.0" = 6,800 RPM

If you increase the desired RPM, you will increase the RPM that the 302 will need to match it:nice:
 
I ran them on my 302 and they worked decent...when I went to a 331, they picked up ALOT...I also ran it carb'd and reved it to around 6800. Made 407 with shorty headers, 2.5" h pipe, victor jr intake and heads (unported), 750hp carb
