Well it happened guys.....I threw my first belt off the blower today. i mean it completely shredded. cut straight down the middle of the belt. i smacked on teh gas then cruised for half a mile and lost power steering and power brakes. pulled over in the library parking lot looked under the hood the belt was torn to bits.

so i drove the car about a mile to my house after i got the belt completely off and went and got a new one and installed it today.

my guess is cause the tensioner was a little loose when i got it home is that when i hit the gas it knocked the belt off the pulley and then the pulley just cut it down the middle and shredded it. at least it wasnt anything bit. that was the 9psi pulley i was running when it happened though.

i guess that could be a good and bad thing on termi engines, 2 belts... so if the blower shreds i lose boost and alternator.. talk about having to limp it!! the bypass port is around 40mm & i don't think you could pull much air through stationary rotors.. thats a thinker....

Thats my worst nightmare haha. Maybe I should carry a spare belt with me in the car....but I think it is a PITA to swap belts? Someone said you have to unbolt the headunit mounting plate?

Yeah I will have to study the car some more to learn the in and outs. I thought someone said they had to loose the head unit to get the belt on/off :(

Man, I REALLY expected this thread to be about your engine giving up the ghost... glad to hear it was only a belt issue.

hahahahahaha thats exactly why i wrote the title like that...to get your heart rates going hahahaha. no she hasnt tanked just yet. but my methanol kit goes on this coming weekend. then when it warms up hello 14psi hahaha

but yea it kinda was a pita to change out the belt just because i had to unbolt the alternator to run the belt. but it wasnt too bad. took about an hour just because i was working by myself and had to try and hold the alternator and then put the belt on the pulley then try and screw it all into the bracket lol. but its on now and has a fresh belt so hopefullty this one doesnt crap out too soon either. ill eventually go 8 rib but not just yet. im liking the stock look of the stock hood lol
