OK I ran into a problem today. WHen i got my car done it was noticed my ball joints were bad. The guy who did my motor threw a pair of pony wheels on and took my centerline wheels off and set them to the side till I had balljoints and an alignment. the LAST words i said to him were DO not do anything with my wheels i will be back to see if the car rides and handles better after i have the joints and an alignment. I put balljoints on and got the alignment today, easy enough, but when i called to see if he was going to be home so I could test my wheels he said "that'll be kind of hard since I sold them". Is there any legal action I can take? I can't get real ugly because he has my 95 in his garage till i go pick it up, but when i do I plan on letting him know how unhappy I am. those wheels are what set the ****ing car off.
Not being a tremendously forgiving or understanding person I'd either break his face. I realize this is not a politically correct solution to the situation. I admit I'm not a person who forgets and forgives. GOOD LUCK
That is a dick move on his part. I would get my **** out of there quick and then make him pay. Small claims may be able to help you, but it is time consuming. Doesn't sound like a person who will fork the money over easily. Why did he sell them? Bad blood between you guys? Good luck
WTF? We need to hear more of this story! Like did you owe him large sums of money and were behind in paying? What was his explanation for selling them, he thought you were trading for the other ones? That just sounds messed up. If he didn't have any grounds for selling your property, I'd show up with the police to pick up the other car. Then have him try to explain his story to them.
I didn't owe him any money, I paid for my engine swap in full. Two things I think are one, he knows I had a wad of cash when i bought my car so he knew I had money to spend, trying to sell me needless **** when i swapped my motor. Secondly, he is just an *******, plain and simple. He's the one who had the red King for sale on ebay and his brother was Shil bidding to jack the price up till it hit reserve, and was dumb enough to tell me he did it.
Plain and simple,he owes you either the wheels or the money he made from selling them.Show up with the cop,and get everything you own outa there fast!
I just read the situation you are in. You should of never of let him take your rims off in the first place. You need to talk to a lawyer and get the police to go with you to get the rest of your stuff. Besides that there isn't much you can do except take him to court . But like the other guys said it will take a while. I wish you the best of luck.
Uhh, yea It's called theft, fraud, and many other things throught the ages. 1. They were your property he had no claim on them, yet he sold them. That's Theft! 2. He Then sold them as though they were his, so he was selling stolen property. Thats fraud! Technically you can get the police down there, find out who has them and reclaim them. They have bought stolen property. 3. He could go to Jail. I agree with above posts, get your other car out, Tell him he must replace them or you are filing charges. If he doesnt, then file charges, you have a good case unless you have left out details pertaining to his side of the story.
That's what's wrong today...nobody wants to follow through. The police MUST be called, charges MUST be filed, he MUST be prosecuted. Seek restitution throught the court system. If you let him settle, what stops him next time he thinks about doing this to somebody else? Nothing. What's to say you were the first. Wouldn't you be PO'd if you found out he did this to somebody before and they "let it go" when he made good? I would be. I think we already got a little insight into his character via the ebay thing.
I'm going to go pick up my 95 This afternoon, which I got screwed on. I told him I wanted the 24 pound injectors removed and 19's put back in to fix the idle issue i was having, I was told for the swap of injectors no charge to put the 19's in. I get a Phone call last night, he replaced the mass air meter because he said mine was shot, changed the oil and changed trans fluid, NONE of this I told him to do. I brought up the fact that I was not pleased about the wheels, and that I told him I would be back for them. WHat I got was a lot of crap, about how we made the trade and they were technicaly his wheels until I came back and someone offered him good money for them. I didn't push the issue with it until I get my car out of there today. He claims I owe him 125 bucks but I told him I wasn't going to pay him.
Well when you go pick up your other car I would have the cops in tow. You don't owe this guy a thing!! He owes you!
What a dick! If i were you, I'd definitely get something back for the wheels. If he gives you a hard time, and you don't get any wheels, or money, and the government won't help you because it was all verbal, then I'd get my cash out of his mouth, ie. dark night + no witness' + axe handle + lips & teeth = fair trade for your stuff.
hey project what happened. We haven't heard anything lately and I was wondering did everything work out in the end. Don't keep us hanging...let us know...........were dying of anticipation.
Well i wasn;t going to say anything until this was cleared up but this is where we stand so far. My Lawyer wrote a letter after the PA state police didn't want to get involved. Of course i got a phone call because he didn't think he did anything wrong and he didn't want any trouble ( so he says). This is where it gets weird. He wants to buy the car, PLUS give me back the money for the wheels. He offered me what I paid for the car, plus the cost of the motor, plus $600 for the wheels he sold off the car. My Lawyer is going to do some digging because I called him and made him aware of this offer. He seems to think that if he made an offer like that he has something to hide
Oh yes! It definetly sounds like he is trying to hide something or get out of something! Good luck! I hope he gets whats coming to him.
Sounds fishy to me also. Here is my take if you want your car then don't settle for cash. Considering the wheels I might just take the cash cuz that might be all you will get. although I agree with the previous post about selling stolen property and the cops should warrant you that and be able to assist you in retrieving you stuff.. ps--- do all your work yourself and never let your car see somebody elses garage or if it does only under close supervision you just dont know who you can trust anymore Good Luck
I hope you get your stuff back.. if the law system wont help you then once you have your car and everything back.. let him borrow a 1/2 ratchet they'll give it back to you at the hospital.. i think it is stupid how the cops always don't get involved in a problem and then it just escalates and they have to get involved... then they say "you should have let us handle this in the first place" >:O .. they probably looked up your vehicles and saw you own a ii and said "eff him"
