does anyone know the name and color code for this color? id love to have a metallic version of this color and i have no idea if its a factory color or a custom color?
and would anyone know if maaco would be capable of that kind of a paint job? yes i know "theyre cheap" but id do all the body work and im on a budget

unless that "dsg" is dark shadow gray?

and then i think its the DSG from 03-04 cobras?

does anyone think that would look good on a 91GT

The color code for DSG is "RC." If you are ordering paint that is all you need to give them and you will end up with Dark Shadow Grey.

How much did it cost you? If you don't mind saying. And was it metallic? I've been looking at that color on the cobras and I think it woulf look good on a fox

That could be mineral gray and not dark shadow gray. Reason i say that is the photo is washed out a little and the colors are not reflecting their true color in it

Yea well I'm debating between dsg or like a real deep red either way I need to find someone capable of painting that doesn't cost a fortune. Maaco would be my best bet but I've heard a lot of bad things

95% of your paint job is your prep work.

You doing all prep or gonna have them do it?

You bring Maaco a nice clean and smooth car. It'll look just fine. But then again, its not gonna last as long as a 10 coat several thousand dollar job either.

With paint, you get what you pay for.

Yea I'm not lookin to spend more than 1k on paint idk if that's realistic or not. I plan to do most of if not all of the prep work with a few friends. It just needs a few rust spots worked over and I'm not much for body work, I've also heard that maaco doesn't sand or prep they just paint whatever you bring?

Most Maacos are full service body shops and will do whatever you want done. I had a 71 Lemans once and they did my original paint job and then fixed and repainted it after some lady creamed me right in the side. It looked fine when they got done with it but I lost interest at that point and traded it for an old Chevy Pickup.

Maaco jobs can suck, their cheap ones essentialy mean they quickly sand/degrease the car, mask off windows, handles and trim and shoot it.

If you want a real, nice job done they can do that too, it will just cost more. Probably no less than any other "regular" body shop.

1k is not really a realistic number for a paint job that you actually want to look good, especially a color change. A friend did mine last summer and never touched the jambs or under the hood and it was still close to $2500 for everything and that was reasonably cheap
