What size inlet/outlet do I need?

I am going to get 40 series mufflers. What size inlet/outlet do I need? 2 1/4 or 2 1/2.

I think I f'd up. I just bought the original 40 series. Are they loud?

They are definatly louder than stock thats for sure!
Magnaflows are probably louder but are a bit obnoxious at times.
The original 40's are VERY popular and for the price you can't beat 'em,
so dont feel like you f-d up.

I want it loud but not obnoxious. And yeah, I got them pretty cheap. Thanks for the responses
