What vehicles had a 130A 6G?

Does anyone know what vehicles if any came with a 130 amp 6G alternator. I want to upgrade from the stock one on my 91 LX 5.0. I have heard the 6G creates less heat, takes less power to turn, and bolts on with no bracket grinding unlike the 3G. I will go with a 3G if I can't find a 130 amp 6G, but I think the benefits make it worth looking for one. Thanks for your help.

I converted to a 3G on my old LX. That site says they came in 130, 160 and 200 amps configurations, but if memory serves most of them were only rated at 95-amps on the early SN95's? Can anyone confirm or deny this?

As far as Mustangs go, early SN95 Mustangs all had a minimum 130 amp alt.

Apparently we are both correct. After a little research, it appears that some early SN95's and other Ford Vehicles could be had with the 95A as well as the 130A version of the 3G alternator (and if I recal after inspecting it, the 3G I pulled from the early SN95 V6 I got mine off of was in fact one of the 95A versions....I'm almost certain). Either way, I had a decent stereo as well as under drive pulleys and electric fan and never had any charging issues...even at idle. :nice:

Here's how to tell the difference between the two for those who are interested....

...and a list of possible donor vehicles.

3G 130amp Donor Vehicles:

(1994-95) Ford Mustang 5.0L
(1994-00) Ford Mustang 3.8L
(1994-97) Ford Thunderbird, Mercury Cougar 3.8L
(1990-95) Ford Taurus, Mercury Sable 3.8L
(1993-99) Ford Taurus, Mercury Sable 3.0L
(1995-98) Ford Windstar 3.8L & 3.0L
(1991-94) Lincoln Continental 3.8L
(1992-97) Ford F Series Pickup
(1992-96) Ford E Series Van

Be carefull there was a 95amp 3G, it's ok, but not high-power.
Most of the 130amp 3G's will crank out 140-160amps.
There are about 6 different mounting styles. 2 are good

I would just buy the 130A 3G that PA Performance sells as a direct replacement for the 5.0 mustang. It comes with everything you need for the install but you need to get the larger gauge wiring kit either from a stereo shop or from PA. It was easy to install and works great. The cost is not much more than getting a stock 95 mustang alternator from auto parts store.
