Reason I ask is I'm ordering a Roush wing for the Stang and decided to get it done in black ( car is blue with powdercoated black rims ) but I when I order it, I need to tell them the paint code to paint it. Thought about using a local bodyshop to do it but thespoilercompany is cheaper and I've read good reviews on them from those who have purchased from em. thanks!

just tell them it's gloss black? there's no flake in the black so it should just be simple. (thats why panel matching a black car is so nice and easy)

Yeah I emailed them that and they still requested a paint code as apparently the painting is done all by a computer and the mixture is based off the paint code.

I thought it rather odd they couldn't just do it but eh, if it saves me $100 bucks and still looks good, I'll track it down for em....

black is UA, pretty standard black for ford. most black paints are not just black, they have other toners in them to achieve the final look. the paint toners are mixed by the tenth of the gram to achieve the proper color match. they could do a universal black without a code though, especially since it is not matching the black of the car.

give them the UA code and make them happy. :nice:

Awesome, just what I needed. Thanks!

I'll post pics when installed. Been taking pictures of all before and after mods and when the wing is on, I'll post em.

Been doing all just few basic visual mods for now while I get a feel for the car. Told myself I wouldn't start on the performance for at least two months so that way I could at least tell the difference when I do something....

Not to mention once I start the performance part, it will never be done. lol

a little off topic but i really like this one honda black. i guess its considered black.

it looks black up until the light hits it and it has a blueish hue to it. we've painted quite a few cars this color, so i'm guessing its as common color. i may just not have paid enough attention to see it on the street when ones passing by.

The Honda color may be the same color used on Acuras as well, I think it is called something like Nighthawk Black.....or something to do that degree.

the honda blacks usually have blue or red pearls in the paint. that is what gives it the hint of blue.

i was thinking it was a blue pearl. its a real sweet color. not a HUGE standout thing, but it definitely adds that extra touch.
