Wheel Bearing? Or Something Else.

I've been hearing some grinding in my wheel area recently and I was told my brakes were fine. Well today the noise was especially bad, but when I made a sharp left turn the noise completely went away until I straightened out my wheels. Someone told me that it is definitely my wheel bearing that is bad. Also, I jacked up the front and spun the wheels and they barely spun 1/4 of a turn on their own then they stopped. How would I know if the bearings are the problem? also are there any other problems that would cause these symptoms?

No noise on a sharp left turn would suggest the right front bearing is suspect.

Jack up that wheel and remove the brake caliper and rotor and spin the hub by hand. It should feel smooth. If it feels rough and gritty, the bearing is probably faulty.

Unfortunately, no easy way for us over the net to diagnose. You need to identify the suspect wheel and investigate
