would gears fit?

hey everyone

i have a 1994 Mercury Grand Marquis GS and i was wondering if it has the 8.8 rear-end, if it does could i put some new gears in like 4.10's?

If it does have the 8.8, I dont see why they wouldnt fit. Maybe you should look in a Chiltons manual or something.

Sure can, no differnt than a mustang or an explorer or an f150 8.8. 2.73's to 4.10 are a simple set up and usaully needs minor if any reshiming.

yup, im planning on putting a trak-lok in my 00 panther. get a 31 spline trak lok off of ebay, around $50, and get some axles from moser, you can use 4.10s, im getting 3.73s. o, make sure that you get a police interceptor driveshaft and the tailshaft housing extension. the police aluminum driveshaft, MMX, is lighter and fairly inexpensive from the ford dealer.

Yes. All the internals are the same for the 8.8's. Just make sure you get a carrier with the right # of splines for the axle shafts. They are either 28 or 31, depending on what it's for. Trucks,SUV's,03&04 Cobra's have 31 splines, 04 and prior Mustang GT's and 01 and prior Cobra's come with 28's.
