I want it all Joe, lol.Guess it depends on what you want. Civilized, well mannered with decent gas milage, or rowdy with an old school hotrod feel? Either would be cool.
Joe
The Z460 would be simpler I think. No engine tear down and rebuild. So a cammed out coyote?! Go for it!
And it will talk to you Dave. When you're miles and months away from being done, it'll be a really tiny little voice.. Barely,...barely discernible ...So I had today off. I gotta work tomorrow. Cash cow is paying, gotta milk it while it's here.
Next Saturday though, by Gripthor's Hammer, Booger will be crammed in my little garage at The Murder House.
I'll post stuff about a car I own, that'll be different.
I've got a plan of what I'll do for the next seven projects.
Meanwhile back in realville, I've been doing serious consideration about the drivetrain. It'll be pricey no matter which way I go.
I'll begin saving $500+ per month towards the drivetrain. I'm establishing an initial budget of $20k for it. My plan is to save ten and get ten in credit. Realistically? It'll take me a year and a half to save that chunk of change. I have a totally separate account for those funds.....the Booger Account.
Luckily I have enough stuff to keep me busy for the next eighteen months. I want the body to be done before I drop in the drivetrain.
So, I really want the Z460 Ford Performance engine. FPP has come out with a new drivetrain offer that's pretty interesting though. A Gen III coyote with a T56 Magnum to include a Quicktime bellhousing and a control pack for $15K. Kind of interesting.
Let's say I get a Z460 and I find myself bored with a mere 575/575 after a short period of time. What do I do? Well, with the forged internals I have a talk with Jeff @TOOLOW91 and discuss an SC with 14 PSI. Lol. 1100hp and torque might keep me happy!
If I get bored with the coyote's power, I would have to tear it down, buy forged everything and take my chances.
So I can't say I'll be welding the right side chassis support in next weekend or not, but Booger will be in my garage telling me to get to work again!
The only reason it's a tiny voice at the moment is that he's about six miles from me in storage right now.And it will talk to you Dave. When you're miles and months away from being done, it'll be a really tiny little voice.. Barely,...barely discernible ...
But once you paint it...itll be like........DAVE!!!!! WTF!!! I WILL NOT BE IGNORED!!!
I can’t even imagine how much that costs. It's rarer to see a 302 or 351W based build now. Every build on the Internet is either a Coyote or an LS swap.
So now, to be different put a EFI 460W in it!. Maybe with this:
That will get you the old googly eyes from the crowd when you pop the hood!
Cheaper than you think.I can’t even imagine how much that costs.
That used to be a 6k system from inglese back in the dayI see them listed for less than $1000 Buy It Now all the time. Of course you need an ECU like a Megasquirt or something to run it.

Same price but able to be docile enough to take the car wherever you want . Cooling that 460 and dealing with the weight up front on the car etc isn’t going to be fun. The aluminator could be a 1000 whp with the right power adder and still drive like a fox .The Z460 would be simpler I think. No engine tear down and rebuild.
The coyote is pretty fascinating and all, but I should buy an Alluminator coyote engine to get the forged internals. It's, ironically, the same price as a Z460.
I've luckily got time to select the final choice.
Yes sir. Bored and stroked boss 351 block. The z460 is a windsor small block right?
What you say has merit Jeff.Same price but able to be docile enough to take the car wherever you want . Cooling that 460 and dealing with the weight up front on the car etc isn’t going to be fun. The aluminator could be a 1000 whp with the right power adder and still drive like a fox .
I was thinking big block ! Sorry .Yes sir. Bored and stroked boss 351 block.
hP or decimals?Stereo bumping 78 mph in over drive with most likely close to 800 on tap at any given moment
