I'm looking for a igntion kit for my 302 i will be putting into my 4 cylinder 1993 coupe. I have seen the forum about the autozone distributor with duraspark.. but i have yet to find a duraspark ignition box or any others mentioned in older forums for sale. Any kits you can actually buy that will work for carb use?

I will tell you up front that I am NOT a fan of converting anything but a pure race car to carb. You will create more problems than you will fix.

However for sake of community, here are some answers that I posted to your original thread.

See http://webpages.charter.net/1bad6t/duraspark.html for more help.
Note the ballast resistor shown in the diagram: you’ll need that too
If you use a coil from a 78 or later Mustang, you don't need the ballast resistor. The stock 89 Ford/Mustang ignition coil does not need a ballast resistor

A simpler HEI ignition that uses the same distributor and fewer parts can be found here. This is an excellent resource, and I suggest that you add it to your Internet Favorites

Google is your friend, I suggest that you familiarize yourself with its capabilities. ALL sorts of DuraSpark boxes are available:

I REALLY want an MSD Atomic EFI kit, but it's a hard price to swallow especially after blowing $650 on my Pro System carb. I got to play around with a Chevelle that had it on a big block and I swear I have never experienced a carbed engine with throttle response as good and I've tuned mine half to death. I would say it was even more crisp and responsive than some traditional EFI cars I've driven. I'll own one eventually but I've got more important things to deal with first. If I were just building an engine and hadn't invested in a carb or ignition setup, this is absolutely the route I would go.

There are better options for this kind of conversion. The only issue I have read about with this system is drivability leaves something to be desired.
Imho fast makes a better kit.

You're right about the throttle response on some of those EFI kits. My business partner has the FAST Easy EFI 3.0 setup on his BBC and the throttle response is insane on it!

DON'T DO IT.

I have the MSD Atomic. It sucks.

The support from MSD is laughable, and got worse once Holley bought them out. Reliability is again, laughable, less than 1500 miles in I had to replace the IAC on it. You have to run rubber hose the length of the car, and their biggest selling point, being able to run the system returnless, is a lie for most applications. (Although if you buy a Honda fuel pulse dampner, P/N: 16680-PCX-003, and install it on the throttle body, you can cheat if you're within a point or two of their criteria for returnless.)

I also have to manually adjust idle speed at the throttle body when the weather changes (wait, I thought this was part of why I got RID OF A CARBURETOR?), and it's re-learn is incredibly long if you disconnect the battery, and it runs so rich at idle your eyes will water until it does.
