    yup they are fairly easier to bolt up, They are geared mor toward highway speeds instead of acceleration.

    There is absolutely no internal difference between a T-5 out of a 4cyl and a v8, the only difference is the input shaft has less splines on it, and as long as you specify the number of splines, any parts store can get a 5.0 clutch to match it. Trust me we have swapped numerous T-5's out of 4...

    Plug Gap

    Okay I had to put a mechanical distributor on my car (points..blah) but I am in the understanding that my plugs need to be regapped. Do you guys happen to know what the plug gaps should be, BTW the distributor is from a 68 stang w/ a 289.

    I just finished my swap from 4cyl F.I. to 302 Carb. I just eliminated all the wiring and ran just what was needed, A hot ignition wire to the starter solenoid, bypassed my neutral safety switch and installed a mechanical Cap and rotor (made it much easier, will put electronic one on sometime)...

    I have own a transmission shop in Florida. I have a rebuilt T-5 sitting in my shop if you want it, I am looking for $500 + shipping for it. Ya, the input shaft is different but you can get a 5.0 clutch w/ the proper amount of teeth. This one is from a 4 cyl as well.

    Okay I put a 302 in my 86 four eye and I had to go w/ a 4 barrel carb and mechanical distributer. what I was wondering is what should the spark plug gap be for my distributer?? My Stang has a minor miss and I thinl this is the problem cause the plugs came out of a 302 F.I.

    Resurface, or clean the flywheel?

    Take a power drill, and put a 3M scuff disk on it and scuff it up until all of the old burnt clutch material is off, and that is about as close as you are going to get without resurfacing it. You dont need an air ratchet to get it off as long as your spark plugs are in, just wrench it,.

    Yeah, I am definately going carb. I am with you on the fact that serious HP #'s can be ran from a Flat Tappet motor. It still has the D8 heads on it, I am looking into GT40's, but that will come at a later date. This Motor was rebuilt at the dealership so I would assume it waws built correctly...
