Hey guys, I have a 2001 automatic v6 stang. Are 3.73 gears applicable on my completely stock vehicle? If so, does it really provide a swell boost in power? If so, how much am I looking at to get the gear(s) installed?

I think you can. I got 3.55 gears in mine, but I remember 3.73 being an option too. I went with 3.55 because I do a lot of highway driving and I didn't want to be at 3000 rpm the whole time. With the 3.55s, I'm at 2000 rpm at 65mph. I have an auto trans. I got the gears and traction lock put in at the same time by the local Ford dealer for about $500. You could probably have an independent shop do it for less. And, the gears do make a difference, especially on the highway; when I go to pass someone it's effortless.

3.73's will work very well in your car. you should see a .4 sec drop in the 1/4 mile going with 3.73's. At 65mph you'll be running at 2300rpm its not that bad, if you go with 4.10 gears you'll be at 2800rpm at 65mph. I dont like high reving a stock engine for long periods of time on the highway so I'd stick with 3.73's.
