5 lug conversion done, but still need some help.

I did a 5 lug conversion on my 86 GT using SN95 parts and 99 PBR calipers. It is impossible to lock up the brakes. I have been told that this is because the booster is too small. I am not sure that a SN95 booster will fit into my car. I have looked at Mat90GT's and Adam Duggers websites and am still unclear if it will fit.

Second. I got my parking brake cables all wired in and am having problems with them as well. Take for instance, I set my parking brake and they work fine, but when I disengage it, my brake pedal goes to the floor. It is weird because then later I can pump the brakes up and they seem to work well. Do I need to bleed my brakes again?

Overall I am satisfied with the conversion, but it seems that the brakes are not all that touchy. What I mean is this. I have a 95 Escort and I put new rotors and pads into the front, and you all know that the escort is no performance machine, but when I tap the brakes the car responds well and comes to a stop very fast. All I have to do it just tap the pedal and the car will let me know that the brakes are engaging, whereas on my Mustang, I have to apply more force to the pedal to get them to respond. Now I have dual pot calipers and high performance pads, and it seems weird to me that my Escort seems to brake better than my Mustang. I just wanted to see what you guys think of this.

The parts I am using are...

SN95 Rotors and 99 PBR dual pot calipers
1985 Lincoln Towncar Master Cylinder
Adjustable proportioning valve
I gutted the stock proportioning valve
rear disc brakes from an SN95 car.
High performance ceramic pads by raybestos all around

Your master clyinder is too big, get a '94-98 V6/GT MC.

If you want an even softer pedal and brake with very little effort, then get a '94-95 booster, it doesn't matter which model but it has to be a 94-95

It will fit, you just have to work it in and drill holes in the firewall, if you elongate the holes in the firewall then that will help a lot, I did a little banging on the strut tower because i was getting tired of test fitting it and elongating the holes with a drill. I followed Adams method, with the cardboar template and all :)

Sorry to intrude on topic, but got a question question with master cylinders. I am doing a 94/95 front brake setup, and drums and axles from an aerostar. Can I use my stock m/c for now? or do i need to get a 94/95 one? The thing is I plan on upgrading to cobra disc brakes all around within a year.

A sn95 booster will fit, but like BlackFox5.0 said, you may have to bang on your strut tower to get it to clear. I had to, but there are others that havent.

I have a 99 v6 booster and mc. My brakes are not that touchy at first either, but I have not adjusted the brake booster yet, so I believe that's my problem. When I really get on them though, I stop damn fast.
