73' Belt for No A/C and no smog supposed to fit but wont

I found the diagram that says I am supposed to use a 73' belt with my Ford a/c delete bracket and not running a smog pump. The belt goes around but seems loose. Anybody know if there is a way to tighten the tensioner more or do I need a smaller belt? I am using this diagram, but the belt is loose.

just take the belt you have to the auto parts store and get the extra inch or two you need.

I mean the belt is too big.

What always worked well for me was take a peice of string or rope and run it around your pulleys in the pattern cut the rope to length measure the rope and see what you get when you go to the auto parts store it is recommended to get 3 belts one 1" shorter one the size and one and 1" bigger and see what works the best for you just return the other too

Did you ever figure it out? I'm trying to find out what length I need. I have a very similar setup to yours except I have an underdrive crank pulley.

You really gotta string it. Too many different combos to really know.

72.5 fit. Dont ask me why. The 73 was supposed to fit. They also make a 72.8 and one other size too. These are goodyear belts.
