I have an '86 GT and at one time I tlaked to somebody about converting the front of the body to the 87-93 style. I can't remember exactly what was all involved in it but this is the next step I want to do so I can get this thing painted.

:stupid:

Yea the conversion is possible, just the headlight harness and bumper cover I believe. I'm not sure about the molding though.

I wouldn't do it though. There's an old Stangnet legend of a kid who did it, we've never seen the completed car or heard from the kid ever again. No more posting from him, doesn't answer PMs, he just vanished. There have been reports of a noseless 86 ghostriding around his neighborhood looking for his proper nose. Scary stuff, huh? DON'T DO IT.

sell the 86 and buy an aero nose car. i dont care what kind of smoking deal you got on it or whatever else...there is no shortage of aero nose cars so if you want one, buy one. the 4-eyed cars are few and far between, lets not remove another one from the world for no reason. PLUS 99.9% of the time the conversions are hack jobs and look stupid.

dont do it. period.

I have nothing against aero nose cars, but taking a sweet 4-eye and converting it to an aero is nothing short of criminal. I believe it is even punishable by death if someone on this forum actually catches you in the process of doing it. Everyone now needs to go make a donation to the "Save the 4-eye Fund". If there is no such fund we need to start one and stop the atrocity.

Yes it is your car, so doing what you want is not something we can stop.

Can we advise you to stay with what you have sure. We encourage you to keep
it a four eye. It will get plenty of respect trust us. There are so many people that
love these cars and will compliment you up and down on how sharp it is.

I do not dislike real aeronoses and have owned a few. They are great looking
cars if born that way and I would like to get another one someday soon.

If you don't have the knowledge and money...honestly...
This unfortunately COULD be you in less then a year.
Having a pile of worthless metal that nobody really wants.
Best of luck in whatever you choose.

i love both and i have had both but it is your car and you can do whatever you want with it.i have done the same thing with an 86 and then sold it but if i had to do it all over again i would never have done that.look around the 86 front clip is sharp if you paint all the body moldings the same and the inside of the headlights you won't regret it.right now i own an 88 gt
