Dumb question - i just bought my mustang and was curious how many speakers the car had.

I've counted two - lower panels on the driver/passenger door...are there more?

What size are the ones in the doors?

Final newbie question, recommendations on replacements with something higher quality? (currently has the premium stock speakers, but with a new headunit)

If the car has/had the premium stereo from Ford, there will be 6 speakers. Two in the dash, two in the door and two in the back. The dash are 3.5", door will take either 5.25" or some 6.5" (gotta watch the depth) the back in convertibles will take 5x7 or 6x8.

If the factory head unit is gone, i would assume that the factory amp is gone too and you are using the power from the aftermarket head unit. That said, almost any brand name after market speaker will give you better sound than the stockers...
