HEY ALL. I GOT A 94 5.0 IT HAS A SEVERE INTERMITTENT STARTING PROBLEM. I HAVE CHANGED OUT THE CAP, ROTOR, PLUGS. I ALSO HAD THE IGNITION CONTROL MODULE TESTED AS GOOD. THE PROBLEM IS IT WILL START IN THE MORNING. MAKE THE TEN MINUTE DRIVE TO WORK OK. LEAVE WORK AT THREE, NO START. IT CRANKS FINE BUT WITH NO SPARK. THE FUEL PUMP IS RUNNING. OCCASIONALY, IT WILL START RIGHT BACK UP AFTER RUNNING AND THEN AGAIN IT WILL NOT. MY IGNITION SWITCH ON THE COLUMN IS FREE SPINNING AS IN THE FACT YOU DON'T NEED THE KEY TO START IT. ANY KEY WILL DO. I HAVE SEEN A COUPLE FORUM'S THAT SUGGEST EITHER THE STATOR OR SOMETHING ABOUT A PINK AND WHITE WIRE IN THE COLUMN. HELP PLEASE!:Damnit:

90% chance it's the pip sensor, you can either rebuild your stock dizzy or buy a new one, i'd recommend the latter...upgrade it now and you won't have to waste your time doing it later.

In case you don't have the money for an MSD though, a PIP sensor is cheap.

I had a similar problem. It was the PIP sensor. You have to pull the dizzy to replace it but I believe it is a cheap part. I am with xr8d302, just change the dizzy, it is easier than pulling the shaft out of the dizzy than putting it back together and reinstalling it.

Pink/white wire (on a fox, not sure about SN95's) is the crank wire that goes to the S-terminal. If the car cranks, that wire should be ok, along with the rest of the starter interlock circuit.

If you have no injector pulsing when you have no spark, the PIP is likely. If you have injector pulsing, the PIP should be fine (look at the TFI, coil, etc).

Pull the codes if you can too.

Good luck.
