Ok, so with all the gathered info i have on this swap, im stil stumped on alot of questions.. Hopefully this thread can help me, and many others that may do this swap in the future... so lets begin with my basic questions,lol..
I understand the 99+ 4R70w's solenoids have a diferent resistance, or atleast some of them do..
Im guessing i have to use the below listed solenoids/parts from my 94-95 AODE in my 99+ 4R70w.
-S1&S2 shift solenoids
-TCC solenoid
-TOT sensor
-MLPS (possibly?)
-94/95 wiring harness
-94/95 valve body wiring harness
-Tailhousing
From what i understand, i can use the 4R70w's EPC solenoid, better yet, the 5.4l higher presure 220psi version (part #XL3Z-7G383-AA)
I understand the 4R70w's tailhousing needs to be swaped to the AODE, since they use two diferent slip yoke o/d's.
-As Quoted from TCCOA "3.8L V-6 AOD-E/4R70W transmissions have only one less clutch plate than V-8 units. Two new pressure plates (less than $20) from the Ford parts department will make it equal to a V-8 AOD-E/4R70W."
Is this refering to the 99+ V6 4R70w tranny?
I wouldnt second guess the info listed on TCCOA otherwise, but from all the searches ive done on Corral.net and Stangnet, and info read on TCCOA, one person says on thing, and another says somthing else..
I know Don95vert (on Corral) did this swap, and has a bunch of threads with the info, as does his site.
