ADVANCING TIMING

my friend told me that right now my car95 5.0L5spd is about 8 degres advanced. he said to unplug this plug on my right fender and set it to 14 advanced and run premuim gas and it will run better whake my motor up is this true i figured i would ask you guys first ????

Yes. But you need a timing light to know were to set it.

yes, as long as you do not have any detonation (pinging) in the motor at wide open throttle 14*-15* is what i run at the track...here is an article that will help you. http://www.muscularmustangs.com/timing.php

I run mine at 14* during the winter and fall. But when it warms up I have to knock it down to 12* because it pings even with premium. And 10* is stock, coming from 8* to 14* you will feel a nice little jump. But make sure its not pinging.

You have to ask yourself why someone set it at 8* to begin with.
