Aluminum Driveshaft recommendation

Anyone recommend a driveshaft maker? I am the type that dont want to pay extra money for a name.

CCI seems to have good prices. Anyone use one of thier driveshafts? Shaftmasters is on a 6 week hiatus

Does anyone know if the .083" wall thickness is sufficient for an aluminum driveshaft or should it be the .125" thickness?

nope,

but i read several forums. and not to name vendors, but there have been some issues..

most bad. i would take some time and read around a bit.

We've had one in Scott's 2011 5.0 for 8 months without issue. Several thousand miles, repeated launches on slicks, road course action, & a couple of trips to the dyno. Scott liked it so much that an aluminum driveshaft was among the first round of mods to the company 2011!

It's a 3.5" diameter 6061 T-6 aluminum tube with .125" wall thickness. Pretty beefy!

I bought mine at Brenspeed. My car is a 2011 GT w/auto & 4:10 gears. Much lighter than the stock 2 piece,no problems on the track or the street. Seems to rev much quicker through the gears now.

A good friend of mine bought a driveshaft from "the mustang shop". Hehas ahd it for 2 months or so. It has a horrible vibration around 75 - 80 moh and up.

I am definitely holding off until there is one that is flawless after multiple installs.

I purchased from Reinhart Automotive. I think it was around 750.00. Lethal Performance and Brenspeed sell them too.

Just got a quote from Dennis Reinhart - $699.00 plus shipping, no adapters, just bolts up he says. It is a metal matrix dyno tech.

Done, called Reinhart and spoke with his son Michael after I got off the phone felt very confident about ordering from them.. And yes the drive shaft does have provisions for removing the 9lb boat anchor.
