kind of depends...drag race 1/4 mile=OFF
Long High way Inerstate race OFF until the motor feels like it has no more go power then turn on the OD. It's like shifting into 5th gear.

this is an auto we're talking about. this has nothing to do with a 5-speed. 5 spds don't have bands. typically, the OD band can only handle 1/2 as much power as the gears can. that's why there is aftermarket replacements for them.

T-5 can not handle high RPM shift etheir.

Also the auto will not stay in gear at WOT, will try and shift into 3rd......

off.......you can upshift through the gears fine and then turn OD on to shift into OD. just dont manually downshift the car.
