Check Engine Light Problem

  • Sponsors (?)

I had this problem on my car several years back. It was the egr position sensor on top of the egr valve. (if your car is equipped with this) Over time the tip of the sensor wears from the constant contact with the egr valve. It wears just enough to knock it out of range and turn the light on and off as you described. Hope this helps out. :nice:

31 = EVP OR PFE circuit belowminimum voltage
63 = TP circuit below minimum voltage

EVP = EGR valve position...check connector, wiring, clean pintle tip.
TP = throttle position...check connector, wiring, possible dead spot in pot.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for info., Itwas a bad TPS. It had a dead spot in it, also replaced the egr sensor it was intermittent also. Thanks again.
