Cleaning engine bay

I doubt that. We're talking about water that is being sprayed on top. When you drive in the rain, the water splashes up my from the bottom. Do you realize how fine the mist is when this happens? I've checked my motor before, I was curious about the air filter, and my heads weren't even wet. So unless you driving through puddles like a pissed off 16 year old than it's not going to happen. There's more than one way to skin a cat. Not to mention opinions are like *******s, everyone's got em, and they don't think theirs stinks. So with that said, we're both right.

I found this in the owners manual on how to clean your engine. If it was unsafe why would ford give instructions on how to do general keep up on our cars.

While not the most pristine engine compartment, I've been doing mine by hand since I got it in 2005. The car never sees rain although I do beat it up at the track. I just make it a point to hand wipe everything I can reach every time I wash the exterior...
