Extreme vs Max summer tires

Well hello gentlemen! I used to be active on all these boards but got into road racing motorcycles and that basically engulfed the last 6 years of my interest. Getting back into my 93 fox and am setting it up for more road racing than drag now.

So the question is, and searching for a good answer is failing me, should I go full on trackway tire which tire rack refers to as "extreme" or a high end "max" summer tire? Going to be a 245/45/17 all the way around and the car will probably see 2k miles a year at most and never in the rain. From what I gather both categories the tires should not be left outside in below freezing temps over winter which I live in Ohio so will probably happen. I can take them off and bring them in but thats a pain. So if I'm going to have to do this either way why not just get the stickiest thing I can? I plan to do some autocross and trackways. Supposedly the Michelin PS4S is incredible but I've read I still need to keep them out of the cold.
