First off...I want to introduce myself here. I'm Sebastian and I am in the market for a Fox Body. But there are things I would want to do. I used to own a cloned Saleen 90 Vert and lost it due to an accident It has a 302 but had sorts of nice adders into it. So therefore I am promising myself into buying another Fox Body (preferably 93). Still weighing on which to get. Vert, Coupe or the HT. I am digging the coupes more everyday since I have been lurking around (BTW...awesome site here) but somehow my heart just says to get another vert. So here is the story.........
Just have been confused myself lately. I just do not know what to get for an engine. I have been sending some e-mails to some manufactures who build aftermarket performance engines, but for some odd reason not returning my e-mails. So far I have been seeing people with 331 and 347 strokers, in these magazines that is. Now before I go further, these are my two top choices for some reasons that I need to ask for. First off, they are the most popular strokers, if I am right and secondly, are they are easy to build power with correct? Money isn't part of a big issue here since I am building this to be a street style with all the suspension werks, mostly maximum motorsports unless someone has a different opinion? I do want K-member frame and the whole 9 yards.
Now back to the point about the engine. Which is which? I am having a hard time to figure it out myself. Also don't know what kind of power adders I would like to go with since that are the most reliable. S/C is my most logical choice and Pro Chargers is probably my number 1 pick so far (unless someone has different opinions about them). They are usually on demand and instant power on all bands for the S/C set-up (if mistaken then correct me if I am wrong). As far as turbos...it is very efficient but they are best used on tracks @ drag strips, which I am not going that route. My next project will do that way with a coupe definately. I know there is alot of debate about S/C and Turbos set-ups. BTW, this will be a ground up engine install, so therefore there are tons of choices here. I do like the Twisted Box-R intake and the new BBK SSR intakes. Both mainly due to looks but I do not know if they are great for these intake with power adders. Also the engine must be very clean looking most likely what this guy has as picture below...... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v489/almoststock/2003.jpg
I absolutely love the clean lines and everything but not lacking that color since I don't like red (Sorry but you do actually have a beautiful car itself). Also on a side note. Do chrome or polish tend to keep heat inside the engine or shall I go with a satin look? Another dispute on myself here as well.
Also forgot to mention. I really would love to install a T-56 Tranny in there. Is this possible for the Fox Body? I used to own the D&D World Class TKO and I loved every bit of it but I just want to step up!
Which will be much more reliable and very efficient for daily and enjoyable driving during nice weathers only as well as being in shows and it will be stored during the winter since I live up in the N'East, Ct to be exact state. Also any recommendations would be appreciated!
Thanks and Regards,
