My buddy is selling his Vortec blown 03 GT. Engine wise, it's boosted with an aftercooled S-Trim @ 10 psi, Anderson power pipe, TWO bypass valves (Vortech engineered it this way, I've never seen it before, but it sounds EVIL when you stab the throttle) C & L upper intake plenum, Professional Products lower intake, Accu-Fab 75mm throttle body, Ford Racing shorties, Bassani X w/ cats and Magnaflow Magnapacks catback. Trans is stock 5 speed, clutch is stock (car never get abused and RARELY driven hard).
Ford Racing 4.10 gears in the rear with the stock trac-lok and axles. It was tuned by a reputable shop (Performance Evolution in Middletown, DE.) and I did a lot of work on this car myself. It's got some good suspension bits as well, but I'm not focused on that. It's in great shape and has about 36,000 miles on it. Oil is changed with Pennzoil Platinum more on a time basis than mileage since it doesn't get driven a whole lot.
I've owned 3 5.0 cars and one mod motor car (my Mark VIII). I know guys who did daily driving on blown 5.0 cars with no real issues so long as they kept up on the maintenance. My commute is a short, 10 minute drive to and from work on backroads. I do some light traveling from time to time, but typically nothing further than 250 miles. I drove this car to Ocean City, MD and back in May and it performed flawlessly, even getting caught in a couple of rain storms on the way home. The only quirk I noticed with it is it's a little cranky until it's warmed up, but nothing too bad.
I'm wanting to pick it up because neither of us want to see it in the hands of someone who won't take care of it. I'm beyond my "hauling ass off of every stoplight" phase, and I'd rather just cruise, but I like to be able to defend myself should the situation arise. So, It won't be getting run hard very much.
So, I'm wanting to hear from folks who daily drive mod motor cars with centrifugal blowers. Advice, pointers, recommendations, anything.
