Lowering Question

  1. Hey everybody, after doing several performance mods (exhaust, intake/tune, driveshaft, gears ect.) I have decided it's time to lower my 2013 Mustang GT and I'm having trouble deciding which lowering springs to go with. Right now I just want to do springs and panhard bar to make the car sit better and do shocks/struts later down the road. Mind you this is not a daily driven car. I'm looking for some springs that will give me good ride quality with a little better handling. I don't really want a stiff ride I'm just looking at getting rid of the awful 4x4 look. I've kinda narrowed it down between BMR or Steeda Ultralites but I thought I'd post up and get some other opinions. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  2. Steeda, or FRPP K will be great choices.
  3. +1 for Steeda ... we are currently having a sale ... you can check us out here:

You will be very happy with the Ultra Lites or the Sport Springs. You can email me at [email protected] if you would like to discuss further?

    Best Regards,

  4. I was looking at going with the Ford K springs at first but on the American Muscle website is states the Ford K springs will only work in conjunction with GT500 strut mounst and new shocks/struts. I don't understand what makes them different than any other spring. Am I misunderstanding something???
  5. It's just recommended that when dropping a certain amount, you also swap the struts and shocks as the stockers weren't designed to sit that low. Also, the factory strut mounts are garbage "one time use" and when you take them off your strut, chances are the tiny ball bearing will fall out, as mine did. It's not necessity, but it's recommended.
  6. I definitely have plans on doing shocks and struts in the near future. For now I just want to get rid of the gaps in the wheel well because it looks awful. My car only has 8,000 miles it. Do you think I can get away with not replacing the strut mounts? Will I be ok on stock shocks/struts for a few thousand miles?

  7. Yeah you'll be fine. I was on my H&R super sports with the stock struts/shocks and strut mounts. For 2 or 3k miles I think it was before I swapped them out.
  8. Awesome that's what I was hoping for. I went ahead and purchased the BMR Lowering Springs with a J&M Aluminum Panhard Bar. I went with the BMR's because of the drop (1.5 rear and 1.25 front) to somewhat level the car. They are also supposed to keep similar to stock ride quality. Here in about six months or less I will do the Koni struts/shocks and GT500 strut mounts. I'm kinda wondering if I should have went with the Steeda Ultralites though. The only reason I didn't go with the steeda's is because a read a review where the guy wasn't happy with the rear drop.
  9. That's what I did was go to the koni str t.'s and gt500 strut mounts. I guess you'll have to see for yourself about the drop. It's an easy job and springs are relatively inexpensive so you can always get something different without much hassle.
