Sometimes when I start the car after the battery has been disconnected I turn on the radio and after about 5 seconds the CD player tries to play for about a second and then the radio will work for maybe 5 seconds and then the cycle will repeat once or twice again and then the radio is fine.

The CD player works ok after the switching back & forth thing.

Anybody know what is up with that

It makes the clicking sound too?

If so, my car's does it once in a while, and my old mans 95 F-150 does it too. I asked him about it and he's just said that it's a common problem with older Fords. He and several others have tried pulling them apart to see what ails it and none of them could determine what it is. The "engineers" at Ford say the problem is prevalent only in cars that are exposed to "extreme heat".

I just try to ignore it. :D
