This problem I am having has happened twice since I got the car. Both times it happened it was pretty hot out and I was driving in bumper to bumper traffic. Basically the windows and door locks stop working. I can't put the windows up or down using the drivers side switch or the passengers side switch. The same thing happens with the door locks, neither side works. I checked all the fuses and they are all fine. The weird thing is that after turning the car off and waiting about 20 minutes both the windows and the locks start working again. Any ideas on what it could be? Thanks.

See the following website for some help from Tmoss (diagram designer) & Stang&2Birds (website host) for help on 88-90 wiring

Check the Black/Lt Green wire for 12 volts when the windows don't work. The ignition switch may be going bad. There is a free recall fix on Mustang ignition switches. Check with your local Ford dealer to see if yours is on the no fixed yet list. You'll need the car's VIN number to find out.
