New Member from Rochester NY

Just joined, will be doing lots of research and hopefully get answers from you all.
I have a 88LX 4 cyl that I'm going ham on. New motor trans, suspension, driveline, wheels.. Everything this winter.

My main question currently is what wires I leave in after pulling the motor out and putting a carbureted 331 stroker. No AC no smog. Trying to keep engine bay clean as possible.

Well…… I guess I’m officially getting old, because my first thought when seeing this nice automobile, was “wow, that’s a really clean, original looking car….. have to keep it that way”.
But then I saw the picture of the 331, and it snapped me out of it!!!
Cool project for sure!! Good luck from a fellow New Yorker!

Remove the ECU and harness. There will be two plugs down by the brake booster and one at the ECU that will have wires you may want to use. Post #2 here:

Haha forgot to mention it has original 25k miles. It was truly an old ladies car that she drove to church and grocery shopping. Interior is spotless and all original, it will stay that way minus the 5spd swap. Color is also staying same, it's rare and I love it.

I just thought I would mention that LMR has staggered and non staggered sets of those wheels in 17"!

They have these in 5-lug if you go that route: https://lmr.com/products/1979-1993-17-10-hole-mustang-wheels

It won't take much for that 347 to overtake some OEM sized Cooper Cobras. :D

Wow, that’s awesome. If you have the room, I’d be squirreling away that motor and trans. The way these low mileage originals are going for crazy money these days, you may want the option of going back at some point.
